The Bruins are coming off a key win against the New York Islanders and going into another key game against the Avalanche. The 7-6-1 Bruins are just out of a wild card spot and would absolutely like to win this game. Tuukka Rask will be starting after making 36 saves against the Islanders, and he will be looking to keep improving
The Avalanche are a dismal 5-9-1 and 7th out of 7 an incredibly strong Central Division. They won their last game against Philadelphia 4-0 but have still gone 2-3-0 in their last five games. Though the Avs looked set in goal before the season with Semyon Varlamov, him and his .890 save percentage have been usurped by Reto Berra and his league-leading .952 save percentage. Berra pitched a shutout last game and will be a challenge for Bruins shooters.

FLYING HIGH
Patrice Bergeron
'Bergy' scored a goal and three assists in his past five games, including the game-winner against the Islanders. With 14 points in 14 games, Bergeron is second on the team in scoring and has consistently played well for the Bruins. Hopefully, he can chip in with some offense tonight.
Matt Duchene
Duchene has been a force for the Avalanche. Recently named to the Avalanche's 20th Anniversary Team, Duchene has five goals and two assists in his past five games after slumping at the beginning of the season. Just last game he had a three-point night against the Flyers and goalie Michal Neuvirth, who had a save percentage of .945 coming into the game.
COMING DOWN TO EARTH
Torey Krug
While 10 assists certainly isn't shabby, Krug has been firing blanks. Tied for third on the team with 37 shots and boasting a team-leading 79 shot attempts. The long and short of it is that Torey Krug just can't seem to score. Though this may be because of some sort of injury, Krug needs to pick up the pace.
Blake Comeau
Comeau has fired 12 shots in just 15 games and has an inconsequential three assists for the entire season. That's bad, right? After 31 points in 61 games last year, Comeau has three points in 15. He's gone five games without registering a single point despite playing 15-20 minutes a night. Like Krug, Comeau is firing blanks.
