The Bruins lost a heartbreaker to the Canadiens 4-2. With a 2-1 lead coming into the third period, the Bruins somehow managed to blow it all, allowing the Habs to score three unanwered goals. But it could still have been avoided if David Krejci hadn't taken a cross-checking penalty with two minutes left*.
However, the Bruins bounced back with a solid 2-1 win against the Islanders, in a game that featured a rested Tuukka Rask making 36 saves. He now has a .930 save percentage is last five games. Anyway, onto the highlights:

Vatrano Scores His First Against Montreal

Though the Bruins lost, rookie Frank Vatrano had a night to remember, scoring his first NHL goal in his first NHL game. After David Krejci passed to Colin Miller from the boards, Miller glided past a Canadiens defender and fired a shot at Habs goalie Mike Condon. Vatrano got his stick on it as the puck whistled by Condon, pinging off the post and in.
Rask Makes 36 Saves Against the Islanders
After being benched in favour of Jonas Gustavsson against the Canadiens, Rask was put into play against the Islanders - and shined. He maded 36 saves on 37 shots and came up with the save in crucial situations. I watched most of that game and was duly impressed by his performance. Aside from a horrible showing against Dallas in which he saved just 14 of 19 shots, he's posted a save percentage of .900 in all of his last five games and has a quality start percentage of 60% in his last five games. Hopefully he's bouncing back from his early-season slump.
Bergeron Scores Goal, Two Assists Against Canadiens and Islanders
Patrice Bergeon has been doing well of late, assisting on Loui Eriksson's first period goal against the Canadiens, assisting on Ryan Spooner's goal against the Islanders while scoring a goal himself: 15 minutes into the second period, Brad Marchand blindly threw the puck out from the boards to Kevan Miller, who tapped a backhand pass back to Patrice Bergeon, who was loitering by the blueline. Bergeron unleashed a slapper that bounced off the shin of Isles defenseman Nick Leddy and into the net.

Priceless.
THREE STARS OF THE BRUINS
THREE STARS OF THE BRUINS
- Patrice Bergeron - A goal and two assists earns him the first star.
- Tuukka Rask - Even though he only played one game, it was enough to earn him the second star.
- Frank Vatrano - Scoring your first goal in the NHL is always special.
* I'm not bitter.
