Last night, the Bruins signed 2015 first-rounder Jakub Zboril to an entry-level contract, the details of which are unknown.
Zboril, a big, all-around defender out of Saint John, scored 13 goals and 33 points in 44 games in "the Q" and made the QMJHL All-Rookie Team. He also won the silver medal for his Czech Republic team at the prestigious Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament and represented his country at the U18 level.
Bruins development coach Jay Pandolfo says Zboril is "a real smooth skater" who "makes it look pretty easy". He goes on to say Zboril is an excellent puckmover and seems to be really, really impressed with Zboril's skating, saying: "He's such a good skater". However, he also says Zboril has "a lot to learn" and could improve his conditioning.
Despite questions about his commitment, work ethic, and conditioning (which is complete and utter BS, but that's besides the point), it seems like signing Zboril could pay off big down the road.
